Third Star-family - Part 2

Aqrab's Decans-Bau (Hercules)

As I mentioned in my prior two blogs on this third star-family, the Aqrab constellation and its decans demonstrate the principles of spiritual warfare. Today, we will look at the third decan of Aqrab, which is Bau (now better known as Hercules). Bau in Hebrew means "Who cometh" to destroy the works of the devil. In Arabic this constellation is called Al Giscale meaning, "the strong One." Gibbor, the strong Man who battles the serpent is none other than Christ. And the same Strong Man is portrayed in Bau.

In this starry battle between the Strong Man (Gibbor) and the serpent (Nachash), we see the Salvational prophecy of Genesis 3:14-15 pictured in the heavens. 

Genesis 3:14-15 “And Yahweh God said unto the serpent (Nachash)... I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her Seed; It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His Heel.” 

The woman, of Genesis 3:15, is shown as Bethulah in the sky. Her “Seed” is the 
Righteous Branch—Christ Himself. Death’s scorpion is portrayed swinging its stinger 
upwards to “bruise” the Strong Man’s heel. This bruising happened at Calvary, when Christ took Death’s “sting” for us. But this starry picture of Genesis 3:15 not only foretells the Death of Christ, it also prophesies the final end of Satan!

 Satan’s end is revealed in the the third decan of Aqrab, which is Bau. As we have already seen, Bau (shown battling with a bunch of fruit and stepping on the dragon) is the same Strong Man (Christ) who took the serpent’s sting (Death) in His Heel. But in Bau, the Strong Man is shown crushing the serpent-dragon’s head, which is positioned beneath Bau’s foot. 

When a snake’s head is crushed, it dies. Here we see the promise that the mighty Seed of the Woman (Christ) will destroy Satan, shattering his hold and claim over each saved person.


At first it may seem strange that Christ is being portrayed in this constellation as clubbing some fruit! But it all makes sense when we see that the serpent has unholy “fruits” (called "the works of the flesh"), which are opposite to the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, found in Galatians 5:22-23. The Saviour works in us to destroy the “works of the devil” (1 John 3:8) —which are the serpent’s fruits in this star-picture.
