Today was our second session of Biblical Astronomy. In today's session, we began connecting the 12 primary constellations (each of which has three decan constellations) with the 12 tribes of Israel.
Of all the numbers in Scripture, the number 12 is one of the most spiritually meaningful. The reason there are twelve original star families (12 main constellations, with three decan constellations in each star-family) is that the constellations bear the message of the Restoration of Yahweh's Kingdom.
This restorative Work is one that Yahweh is doing for mankind. It is also a personal Message and Work. Each of us are personally being called to experience God's Redemptive steps, portrayed in the original star and constellation names. It is the foundational message of Yahweh's Kingdom - exemplified by the fact that the gemstones, bearing the same meaning as the stars, will be the foundation under the feet of the people of Yahweh for all eternity (as they are the foundation stones of the New Jerusalem).
For this reason, the study of the 48 original constellations is far more than a look at interesting astronomical facts. Biblical astronomy is a call to Redemption and full Restoration, which is a personal journey with God.

Thank you. Where could we find in the Book of Jasher and the Book of Enoch where it mentions the Angel, Uriel, and that he conveyed to mankind the meaning of the constellations?
ReplyDeleteThe constellations that represent the 12 tribes are in a circle that is the circuit of the sun for a complete year. This is important and I was wondering where to find that information as well.
In what constellation does the year begin and end?
