Meaning of Mozanaim (Libra) in Hebrew Word Pictures
As Dr. Frank Seekins explains in his book Hebrew Word Pictures:
To see this more clearly, consider the following diagram of how the ancient Hebrew aleph (which looks like an ox head) was changed into the letter "A" in various languages:
Yesterday, I shared the meaning of the first primary constellation, Bethulah (the virgin), today, let's look at the second primary constellation, anciently called Mozanaim (now called Libra, the scales). We'll look at the meaning of this constellation name, from the ancient Hebrew Word Pictures.
Mozanaim is spelled (reading from right to left):
The Mem - the ancient Hebrew mem looks the waves of water with a stream flowing down. The pictograph symbolizes: 1) water, 2) mighty (like the ocean), 3) to come down from (like water flowing down a stream). Water (Mem) is a symbol of cleansing (Ezekiel 36:25, Ephesians 5:26-27). It also represents people in the Bible (Revelation 17:15). So the first and last letters of Mozanaim mean that spiritual cleansing is being offered to masses of people (all of humanity).
The Aleph - the ancient Hebrew Aleph looks like an ox head. In Scripture, an ox is a symbol for great strength. Thus, the letter Aleph means 1) strength, 2) Leader, or 3) what is first. Because Yahweh is the ultimate Strong Leader - being God - and because He is supreme, the letter Aleph represents Yahweh. The next letter is the Aleph. The ox head primarily represents Yahweh Himself. The presence of this letter shows that the spiritual cleansing offered in the Mem comes through the strength of Yahweh (Aleph).
The Zayin - the ancient Hebrew Zayin looks like an ax or an exaggerated sword with a handle. Keeping this image in mind helps us remember what the Zayin signifies. The Zayin symbolizes 1) a weapon (ax or sword), 2) to cut, 3) to pierce. The letter Zayin shows the cutting (Calvary), by which the power of Heaven would accomplish this cleansing.
The next letter of the word Mozanaim
is the Noon - the ancient Hebrew Noon looks represents a fish leaping up out of the water, or a new sprout of vegetation. It means 1) action, 2) life. The letter Noon, being next in Mozanaim, shows that through the "cutting" of Calvary, we would not only be cleansed, but given new life - Eternal Life.
The second to the last letter of the word Mozanaim is the Yod- the ancient Hebrew Yod looks like arm with a hand outstretched. The Yod means 1) a hand, 2) to work, and 3) a deed done. This letter being next in the word is a Call to honor Yahweh for the mighty Work of Redemption which He has done on our behalves.
The final letter of the word Mozanaim (the name of the scales constellation) is the Mem again, doubling the message of this letter in this constellation name. See above for its meaning.
Combining the six Hebrew letters which spell Mozanaim, we get the full Hebrew meaning of the scales of Judgment, beautifully portrayed in both the stars and in the Hebrew Word Pictures for the name of this constellation.
As Dr. Frank Seekins explains in his book Hebrew Word Pictures:
Ancient Hebrew letters are signs from Heaven. The story of the ancient pictures that proclaim Biblical truth in the Hebrew letters and words used by Abraham and Moses - and how these ancient pictures became the written characters used to write most of the worlds' languages today. (Hebrew Word Pictures, introduction)
To see this more clearly, consider the following diagram of how the ancient Hebrew aleph (which looks like an ox head) was changed into the letter "A" in various languages:

Mozanaim is spelled (reading from right to left):
mem yod noon zayin aleph mem
Again, the meaning of the Hebrew word is gained by adding the meanings of each individual letter.
Considering this, let's look at the full meaning of the Hebrew name for the constellation Mozanaim, spelled Mem, Aleph, Zayin, Noon, Yod, Mem as shown above.
The Mem - the ancient Hebrew mem looks the waves of water with a stream flowing down. The next letter of the word Mozanaim
is the Noon - the ancient Hebrew Noon looks represents a fish leaping up out of the water, or a new sprout of vegetation. It means 1) action, 2) life.
