The Call of Tsedek (Jupiter)

Yah our Righteousness

Tsedek (Jupiter) is the King planet - the planet which represents the Heavenly King. Its name indicates His Righteousness, for He is Yahweh our Righteousness.

This beautiful planet is not just a heavenly reminder of Yahweh's Righteousness, it is also a call to us to enter into His purity.

Psalm 24:3-5 “Who shall ascend into the hill of YAHWEH? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from YAHWEH, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.”
Isaiah 62:2-5 “…The Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the Mouth of Yahweh shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of Yahweh, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for Yahweh delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married… As the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.”

Messier 87

Lessons from a Black Hole

Messier 87 (M87) is a bright elliptical galaxy, which is home to a massive black hole. Pictures of this galaxy and have revealed the first ever image of an actual black hole. The following photo of it was taken with the Event Horizon Telescope.

Messier 87 is part of the Bethulah (Virgo) galaxy cluster, which is about 55 million light-years away from earth.

Black holes are known for being powerful, which irresistibly draw everything in with the most unstoppable of forces. Everything swallowed by the black hole is useless to fill its "sucking", vortex-like void. Nothing fills it. No matter how many stars or space objects are sucked down its gaping center, the black hole remains just as large, just as needy, just as unfilled as it was before swallowing that space object.

Did you know that some people are like black holes? They are needy. They "suck" the time and resources of those around them. True followers of Christ often fall into their web, continually supporting these "black holes", bailing them out of crisis after crisis (all brought on by their own poor choices). Yet the resources, given to “save” these needy people from disaster, never improves their situation. It is as if money, time and talents are uselessly poured down a black hole, every time they are invested to “help”.

Did you now that this is against God's Way? In Heaven's Way, blessing results. With a "black hole" situation, no amount of resources expended ever produce lasting blessing and benefit. No blessing...  no Holy Spirit...  God is not in these toxic relationships. God is a God of blessing.

If you find yourself involved with a "black hole" relationship, get out! You cannot fill it. You cannot fix it. You cannot bless it. But under the power of hell, it will surely suck you dry, if you remain in its vicinity.

What Happens When a Star Dies?

More Beautiful in Death?

Scripture compares God's people to stars. In Daniel 12:3, it says:
"And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."
Throughout the Bible we also find that God is calling His people into death - death to self, death to sin, death to our will...  It is as we submit into His Hands, dying to self, that we are given a beautiful new life, in Him.
Romans 6:1-4  "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into (Yahshua) Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
It is only in death that this new life and true beauty are found - the beauty of reflecting a Christ-like character.

This is another way in which people are a lot like stars. Stars too create their most beautiful displays as they die.

In the case of low-mass stars like our own sun, and the M2-9 star pictured above, the stars transform from normal stars to white dwarfs by casting off their outer gaseous envelopes. The expended gas frequently forms an impressive display called a planetary nebula that fades gradually, over thousands of years. M2-9, a butterfly planetary nebula, lies 2100 light years away.

Its beautiful gaseous wings are the result of the center star dying out. And from its death comes such beauty, that it actually brings more glory to God in its death than it ever could in its life...

Here is another planetary nebula (which are created by the death of a star):

Perspectives and Humility

An Amazing Photo of the Quadrantid Meteor Shower

Last night was the peak of the Lyrids Meteor Shower. This is the current meteor shower of 2019. But remembering back to January, the following photo, taken by Vincent Duparc over La Palma (one of Spain's Canary Islands) shows an amazing time-lapse of the Quadrantid Meteor Shower, the "Big Dipper" and a comet.

Image Credit and Copyright Vincent Duparc
This sky-event, which the Bible refers to as "falling stars" is caused by streams of solid particles - the size of a speck of dust and larger - which move as a group through space. Most often, meteor streams are caused by the dust expelled from a comet. In this composite image, careful inspection reveals the faint green coma of Comet Wirtanen.

The meteor paths are actually all parallel to each other, but like train tracks disappearing into the distance, perspective causes them to look like they radiate out from a single point in the distance.

In this way, meteors have a powerful lesson to teach us - our perspective on things is not always right, even if it appears to be "right" to our point of view. Awareness that our beliefs could be wrong is a vital part of wisdom.

As one Hebrew scholar once point out to us, "Consider how much you have grown in your understanding of what is Truth over the last decade. How much of what you believed to be true 10 years ago do you still believe? In other words, what percentage of what you used to believe do you still hold as truth?"

After waiting a moment for us to consider his question, he responded, "Probably about 90%. Is that about right?"

We agreed.

He continued, "So, 10% of what you used to believe to be true has proven to be false, after searching the Scriptures. Is that an accurate statement?"

"Yes", we agreed again.

"That's about the percentage of most folks. And that demonstrates something important. Simply because you firmly believe in something, doesn't mean that your point of view is actually right. We all continue to grow in the Word. And as we do, we discover that many things we've believed prove true. But we also continually discover that some things we have long believed prove to have been false. Our perspective on it was distorted. And if 10% of what we believe proves wrong, over time, that aught to be enough to keep us humble and teachable."

I often think of what this Hebrew scholar said especially when I look at meteors which appear to radiate out, but actually run parallel to each other...  Perspective...  Humble... Teachable...

Yes... Still learning...

A Deeper Look at Unleavened Bread

Significance of the Lyrids Meteor Shower Occurring in Unleavened Bread

I find it amazing how all of Yahweh's Messages to mankind tie together, almost as if forming a beautiful tapestry of Truth. His Plan Redemption is given in Scripture, in the constellations and star-names, in the tribal ensigns of the 12 tribes of Israel, in the spiritual meaning of the gemstones which represent each of the twelve tribes, in the furniture and ceremonies of the Sanctuary... and the list goes on from there.

Considering all we have discussed about the spiritual meaning of Qesheth (Sagittarius) and its decans, including its annual Lyrids Meteor Shower, it is notable to see the connection with this fourth star-family and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This connection is obvious, in that the Lyrids Meteor shower is occurring during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, but there is also a connection in the meaning of this constellation family and in the meaning of Unleavened Bread.

Lasting a little over a week, this first holy Appointed Time of the year began with Passover and continues with the Feast of Unleavened Bread, including the day of First Fruits.

God designed these three Feasts (Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits - all of which take place in connection with one another) to teach us a vital lesson about how we can be made
free from sin. This ties in with the messages of the prior two star-families, also, namely: Mozanaim (Libra) and Aqrab (Scorpio).

The experience of walking with God in perfect harmony with His Will is the first step in becoming the First Fruits unto God. In this sky, the first reference to Christ as the First Fruits, and to His people, who are the second fulfillment of First Fruits, is found in the first constellation: Bethulah. Remember, Bethulah holds a sheaf of First Fruits in her hand.

Called the First Fruits, in the End of Time this special group is also known as the 144,000. Having fully surrendered to the Will of
God, they follow the Lamb’s every example, and stand “without fault” as spiritual “virgins” (a symbol of purity in doctrine and commitment to God) before the throne of Yahweh.

In Scripture, a song of Praise is associated with the First Fruits - the 144,000. In fact, they will sing this song in Heaven - being the only beings with the right to do so, by the Grace of Messiah. This song of Praise, known as the Song of Moses and the Lamb is represented in the sky as Kinnor (Lyra) the harp (or lyre) of praise.

Revelation 14:3-5 - "And they sung as it were a new song before the Throne, and before the four Beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they, which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the Throne of God."
The physical sequence of the annual Feasts directly parallels the spiritual order in which Christians progress on the path of Life. Through Passover and the Week of Unleavened Bread the
observer experiences forgiveness and cleansing from sin. Having been made clean, one may effectively pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit promised in Pentecost.

Then, in the Day of Trumpets, the spiritually cleansed and Spirit-empowered Christian is ready to join the ranks of God’s

messengers giving the Last Call to the world.
This work is represented as beginning with the white horse and Rider of Revelation 6:1. And it is repeated in this star-family in Qesheth.

Isn't it amazing how God has repeated these beautiful messages and teachings in so many ways?

Sky Event #12

Lyrids Meteor Shower
Tonight we will enjoy the peak of the amazing, annual Lyrids Meteor Shower! Thus,

While it isn't going to be a meteor "storm" (100+ meteors per hour), the annual Lyrids Meteor Shower usually produces about 20 meteors per hour.

The epicenter of the shower will be located in the constellation of Lyra (Kinnor, in Hebrew), which appropriately happens to be one of the decans of Qesheth - our featured constellation for the month of April. Thus, to better understand the spiritual significance of this sky event, we need to refresh our understanding of the spiritual meaning of Kinnor (Lyra).

As I explained in my blog from April 2, the first decan of Qesheth is Kinnor (Lyra), the harp (or lyre) of praise to God. Certainly, we know that God is worthy of praise all the time. But this constellation isn’t just a general reminder that God is worthy of our praise. Kinnor is about praising specifically, for defeating the powers of darkness, and for giving us the victory.

The same wonderful God who carried the Children of Israel out of Egypt on the “Eagles’ wings” (Exodus 19:4) of swift deliverance also sets His children free from spiritual bondage. This delivering Work is portrayed in the white horse and Rider of Qesheth. And in the Kinnor harp we are invited to praise God for His saving Work that is completed for us.

Kinnor (Lyra) is a small constellation located in the fourth quadrant of the northern hemisphere. It can be seen at latitudes between +90° and -40°. Kinnor contains Vega, which is the
second brightest star in the northern hemisphere.

The original name of this constellation is found in the following verses:
Psalm 43:4 “Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp (Kinnor) will I praise thee, O God my God..”
Psalm 147:7 “Sing unto Yahweh with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp (Kinnor) unto our God.”
With that background, we see that the annual Lyrids Meteor Shower is extra special, spiritually speaking. For it is an annual celebration - a heavenly reminder for rejoicing in our Saviour for all that He has done! Bearing this in mind, let's return to some of the scientific details about this shower.

Typically, the Lyrids Meteor Shower has anywhere from 10-20 meteors per hour at its peak. As I've mentioned, this year's peak will be in the early morning hours (pre-dawn tomorrow morning). Naturally, being the time of Unleavened Bread, the waning gibbous moon will be shining brightly. Thus, we can expect that some of the shower's intensity will be washed out by the light of the moon. For this reason, it is probably best to look for meteors earlier tonight.

Rarely does the Lyrids Meteor Shower turn into a storm. And it is not expected to do so this year. In 1982, American observers did see an outburst of nearly 100 Lyrid meteors per hour. And about that many meteors per hour were seen in Greece in 1922 and from Japan in 1945.

One notable thing about meteors from the Lyrids Meteor Shower is that about a quarter of them leave what astronomers call "persistent trains". While observing the meteor, notice whether it leaves a persistent train - that is, an ionized gas trail that glows for a few seconds after the meteor has passed.

As you have probably guessed, the Lyrids Meteor Shower is named for the constellation from which it visually appears to originate: Lyra (which we know was originally called Kinnor).

If you trace the paths of all the Lyrid meteors backward, they seem to radiate from the constellation Kinnor (Lyra), near its brightest star Vega. In Hebrew, Vega is called Room, meaning "He shall be exalted". This star name is found in Psalm 18:46. I will conclude with this Psalm today, as it completely sums up the Heavenly Message in tonight's Lyrids Meteor Shower, shooting forth from Room (Vega):
Psalm 18:46-49  "Yahweh liveth; and blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my Salvation be exalted (Room). It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me. He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: Thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore will I give thanks unto thee, O Yahweh, among the heathen, and sing praises unto Thy Name."

Messier Objects in the Qesheth Star-Family - Part 3

The Lagoon Nebula

While not as filled with amazing heavenly sights as the Aqrab (scorpion) star-family, the Qesheth star family still have several heavenly treats to dazzle the eye.

Qesheth is home to the beautiful Nebula which modern astronomers have cataloged as Messier 8 (M8) or NGC 6523 - also known as the Lagoon Nebula. The nebula is estimated to be between 4000-6000 light years from Earth and is 110 by 50 light years across. As is often the case, the Lagoon Nebula appears pink in time-exposure color photos, but it looks gray to the eye when you look at it through binoculars or a telescope. The gray appearance is due to human vision having poor color sensitivity at low light levels.

The following in how this nebula appears under infrared:

In Qesheth, the Lagoon Nebula appears about in the arm of the Rider, as shown in the image below:

The arm, in Scripture, is a symbol for power and strength and for the ability to give or take.

A nebula is truly wondrous and beautiful. Named after the Latin word for "cloud", nebulae are massive clouds of dust, hydrogen gas, helium gas and plasma. The oldest written record of any nebulae was recorded by Ptolemy in his Almagast in 150 AD.

In modern astronomy, with increasingly powerful telescopes to aid the eye, we are able to see sights in the heavens which the ancients wouldn't have seen. Objects, which Yahweh placed in His remarkable Mazzaroth tapestry, perhaps for our notice at such a time as this.

Zooming in more closely upon Qesheth's shoulder reveals the wondrous Lagoon Nebula...  Think of it... a lagoon... a deep pool of space "water" shines in Qesheth. The symbology of water from Scripture cannot be lost to us as we consider this nebula and its placement. For the imagery goes right along with the Message of Qesheth - the Gospel bearer. It shines forth as a Heavenly invitation to all, borne by those who carry the Gospel to the whole world:
Revelation 21:6 - "And He said unto me, It is done. I Am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the Water of Life freely."
Revelation 22:1 - "And he shewed me a pure River of Water of Life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."
Revelation 22:17 - "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the Water of Life freely."

Passover Sky Events at the Crucifixion

Why the Sky Went Dark When Yahshua Died

Never has a major Heavenly event occurred, without a sky-event to herald it, or more deeply portray its meaning. We have seen this in the sky-events which announced the Saviour's Birth, affectionately dubbed the "Bethlehem Star". Not surprisingly, there was a significant sky-event which marked His Death as well.

Since today is Passover, the fourteenth day of the first Biblical month of the year, counting from the New Moon (day after the first visible sliver of the moon is sighted) of April 7, it seems appropriate to cast our gaze back to the time of our Saviour's Death. He, Who was Heaven's Passover Lamb (John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:7) was slain for our sins on this day (Passover) about 2000 years ago.

The first significant thing which took place in the heavens at the time of our Saviour's Death was a lengthy darkness, which the Gospel writers tell us lasted for about three hours.
Mark 15:33  "And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour."
Matthew 27:45-46  "Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Yahshua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
Many scholars and Bible students have tried to determine the year of the Crucifixion based upon finding a year when there was a solar eclipse. This is because of the Bible record which tells us that there was darkness during the day of the Crucifixion. And the only explanation known to science for darkness happening during the day is a solar eclipse. But there was no solar eclipse when our Messiah died.

As the following diagrams will show, a solar eclipse can only occur during the conjunction (dark phase) of the Moon. During conjunction, the Moon is positioned directly between the Earth and the Sun. This is why it visually appears dark, from the viewpoint of Earth. And only in this position (with the Moon between the Earth and the Sun) can a solar eclipse occur.
Solar eclipses don't occur at every conjunction of the Moon, of course, because the Moon is not always perfectly positioned to cover the Sun. But the fact remains that a solar eclipse can only occur when the Moon is in its conjunction phase.

According to the Biblical calendar, the first sighting of the sliver of the Moon, following the conjunction is the New Moon Eve. The next day is the New Moon Day, beginning the next month. Passover, according to Leviticus 23:5, occurs on the fourteenth day of the Biblical month. In other words, it is fourteen days after the new moon sliver. Consider the following lunar phase calendar for this month:
On the above calendar, the date of the New Moon is marked as Friday, April 5. But, as I have explained in this blog, astronomy today considers the conjunction of the Moon to be the New Moon. However, this was not how it was done in Bible times. The New Moon sliver was sighted, and the next day was the New Moon day. Also, the first Biblical month of the year, counted from this New Moon Day, was called Abib. Bearing this in mind, notice that the first visible sliver (Biblical Day of the New Moon) is on April 7, having been first sighted on the night of April 6.

Counting fourteen days to Passover, let us pay special attention to the Moon phases:
Biblical New Moon - Day 1 of Abib: April 7Waxing Crescent - Day 2 of Abib: April 8Waxing Crescent - Day 3 of Abib: April 9Waxing Crescent - Day 4 of Abib: April 10Waxing Crescent - Day 5 of Abib: April 11First Quarter - Day 6 of Abib: April 12Waxing Gibbous - Day 7 of Abib: April 13Waxing Gibbous - Day 8 of Abib: April 14Waxing Gibbous - Day 9 of Abib: April 15Waxing Gibbous - Day 10 of Abib: April 16Waxing Gibbous - Day 11 of Abib: April 17Waxing Gibbous - Day 12 of Abib: April 18Full Moon - Day 13 of Abib: April 19Waning Gibbous - Day 14 of Abib: April 20

As you can see from the above list, Passover, always falls just after the Full Moon - being at a time when the Moon still appears to be full. Now, on the diagram below, not the positioning of the Moon when it is at a Full Moon phase. Notice that the Full Moon only occurs when the Moon is on the other side of the Earth - not between the Earth and the Sun, as it must be in order for there to be a solar eclipse.

Because every Passover - in any year - is always the fourteenth day of the first month, counting from the New Moon, Passover always occurs when the Moon is full. Therefore, you can know beyond question that there could not have been a solar eclipse at the time of the Crucifixion. For Christ died on Passover (John 13:1; John 18:28; John 18:39; John 19:14) - the fourteenth day - a day on which the Moon is always full (just past).

Not only can a solar eclipse never occur on Passover, but also, it cannot account for three hours of darkness, which the Bible says happened on the Passover of the Crucifixion. Solar eclipses do not last so long. Since there is no other natural explanation for the three hours of darkness which took place on the Day of the Crucifixion, one can only conclude that God shrouded the Earth in darkness, by supernatural means. But why?

Certainly, darkness was a sign of mourning. In fact, Scripture equates darkness as a symbol of Death itself - Job 10:21-22. Sin is Scripturally likened to spiritual darkness - John 3:19. Christ bore our spiritual darkness on the Cross. Darkness is also representative of the Wrath of Yah in Judgment - Zephaniah 1:15. Since we know that Yahshua took our place, accepting the Wrath of Judgment upon Himself, this too fits the picture.

But while all of these above explanations are likely part of why Yahweh supernaturally darkened the sky on the day of the Crucifixion, they are not the only reasons. There was also a powerful event going on in the sky, which it appears Yahweh intentionally turned out the sunlight to allow onlookers to see.

On Passover, during the time when Yahshua was hanging upon the Cross, the full Passover moon moved into the heel of the Strong Man, who is battling the serpent. The following is a screen-shot taken from my computer using Starry Night Pro (professional astronomy software) to reconstruct the sky over Jerusalem at the time of the Crucifixion.

What were the onlookers able to see in the sky, when God turned out the lights? The full Passover Moon was positioned in Yahshua's Heel (for Yahshua is the Strong Man) to show that at that moment, our Heavenly Strong Man was receiving the Serpent's deadly sting in His Heel - the very sting which Scripture and the constellations had foretold He would receive, on our behalves - Genesis 3:15.

When you "Hide Daylight" in Starry Night Pro, on the afternoon on which our Saviour died, the above image shows exactly what would have been seen in the sky over Jerusalem. Wow! I don't think Heaven could have been any clearly if God had posted a flashing neon sign!

Yes, Yahshua, our ultimate Strong Man, did take it in the Heel, dying for our sins on that wonderful Passover nearly 2000 years ago. And as we commemorate His Sacrifice today, may we each thankfully claim it as our personal covering. In Him, may each of us find the blessing of the Promise which was carried out in the sky and on the ground that day.
1 Corinthians 5:7-8 "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."
