Dramatic Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse - Dims Africa & Asia

Annular Solar Eclipse on June 21 - the Day of the Summer Solstice (Second Tekufah of the Biblical Year)

On Sabbath, June 20, at 5:54 P.M. (EDT) or 21:44 (GMT), the sun will reach its northernmost declination for the year, resulting in the longest daylight hours of the year for the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest daylight hours of the year for the Southern Hemisphere. This sky event, known as the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere is the second Tekufah of the Biblical year. And within the 24 hours of this Tekufah day, one of the most dramatic annular eclipses will dim the skies over Africa and parts of Asia.

The annular eclipse, also known as a "ring of fire", will first be seen in northeastern Republic of Congo at 5:56 AM in local time (4:56 GMT), which is just a few minutes after sunrise. The main duration of the eclipse will last 1 minute and 22 seconds. From there, the path of the eclipse will continue on crossing Central Africa and into Asia as shown on the map below:

For a solar eclipse to occur, the conjunction moon (dark phase) must come between the Earth and the Sun as shown in the image below:

This eclipse is significant in that all darkening of the sun is a Biblical sky event, which is a sign of the End.
Joel 2:31  "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible Day of Yahweh come."
Additionally, further meaning is found in the placement of this annular eclipse in the constellation tapestry of the Mazzaroth. This eclipse will be in Orion, the constellation which foreshadows the Second Coming of Messiah.

For more information on the spiritual significance of the constellation, Orion, check out my past blog on it. But in short, the placement of this annular eclipse will be in the club of Orion. Orion represents Yahshua -  the true Messiah, Who is also known as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. The lion depicted in Orion, however, is the impostor - the anti-christ. True Messiah will judge and neutralize the anti-christ, at His Return.

Significantly, the placement of this sky event is a sky-warning to the cause of darkness. Now, in the time when the world is gearing up for the appearance of the anti-christ, this solar eclipse promises us all that Yahshua will quickly defeat the anti-christ. His false reign will not last very long!

Beautiful, encouraging message! Look up! Your Redemption draweth nigh.

Sky Event During the Feast of Passover/Unleavened Bread (April 8-15,2020)

Planetary Alignment in Qesheth and Gedi!

The heavenly bodies are the minute hand on Yahweh's great Heavenly Clock. The holy Feasts of Yahweh, listed in Leviticus chapter 23, are the hour hand. And when a sky-event occurs on one of Yahweh's holy Feast days, the sky Clock is chiming the hour!

On April 14 and 15 (the last two days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread this year) there was an amazing planetary alignment in the constellations of Qesheth (now call Sagittarius) and Gedi (now known as Capricorn). This alignment also involved the Moon, as shown in the image below:
(Image: © Starry Night)

The spiritual, prophetic significance of this sky event is huge. But to understand it, we will need to start by identifying the heavenly "players" in this alignment as well as the placement of this sky-event within the tapestry of the constellations.

Let's begin with the heavenly "players".

The Moon -
The Moon was known as Lavanah in ancient Hebrew. Lavanah means "white" or "clothed in white". In Bible times, God's people understood the Moon to be a symbol of the "woman", ultimately the Bride of Messiah. The connection between the Moon and the woman is plainly seen in Jacob's interpretation of Joseph's vision. Joseph was shown the sun, moon, and 11 stars bowing down to him. Immediately upon hearing this dream, Joseph's father, Jacob, knew who these heavenly bodies of the dream represented. The story is found in Genesis 37. Jacob rightly identified the sun as himself (the father of the family), since the Sun ultimately represents the Heavenly Father. He identified the Moon as Joseph's mother (as the Moon is ultimately a symbol of God's people, His final Bride). And the 11 stars (11 constellations) which bowed to Joseph were his 11 brothers. For more information and a deeper Bible study showing that the Moon is a symbol of Christ's bride, see my past blog on the Original 7 parts of the Solar System. In short, as a player in this sky-event, the Moon indicates that this is a message to the Bride - the End-time people of God.

Mars - Mars was known as Ma'adim in Hebrew, which means "bloody" and indicates war and blood shed. The presence of this planet in this sky event is a clear warning of soon-coming trouble.

Saturn - Saturn was called Sabbatai in ancient Hebrew, which means "Sabbath day". It is from the root word meaning "rest". Currently, we are in the Sabbatical year. This Sabbatical year ends with the Day of Atonement, which is coming on September 28, 2020. For evidence that this is the Sabbatical year, and that the Sabbatical years ends on Atonement, go to the "2020 Bracing for Impact" presentation in our Livestream archive. The significance of Sabbatai being present in this alignment is a promise. The warning is being held off until after the conclusion of the Sabbath - Sabbatical year.

Jupiter - Jupiter was originally known as Tsedek, meaning "Righteousness" and "He Who Judges in Righteousness". Tsedek is present in this sky-event as a clear reminder that Yahweh's Judgment is coming. He Who sees all and judges in righteousness will judge mankind. Sin and wickedness will not always be allowed to continue. Thus, we see a clear warning and a call to repentance in this sky-event.

Now, having looked at the players in this sky-event, let's turn our attention to the placement of it, in terms of where it took place amongst the tapestry of the constellations.

(Image by Shauna Manfredine - copyrighted, all rights reserved)

As is plainly shown in the above image, the alignment took place at the rear end of the constellation Qesheth (Sagittarius) and ran into Gedi (Capricorn). This placement indicates that the meaning of this planetary alignment and message to the Moon (God's people) involves the messages of these two constellations.

Qesheth, as we have already seen in this blog, represents the white horse and Rider of Revelation 6, going forth to bring the last Call of the Gospel to this sin-darkened planet. Clearly, the placement of this sky-event in this heavenly location indicates that the Gospel of the Kingdom is already going forth, which plainly indicates that we are living in the Last Days.

Gedi, the goat fish, is the constellation of the final Atonement. For more information and evidence of this, please visit my past blog on Gedi. But, in short, the reference to Gedi in this sky-event is a clear indication that Yahweh's final Day of Atonement is coming. Upon the final Day of Atonement, the opportunity for Salvation will be forever gone. For similarly to the day on which the door of Noah's Ark was closed, allowing no one else to enter and be saved, the final Day of Atonement is the final close of Probation for planet Earth.

So, now that we have examined the players and constellation backdrop of this sky-event, what prophetic message is to be found in the alignment of the planets and the Moon during the Feast of Unleavened Bread this past week?

This sky event is a special warning and message to the saved people of Yahweh (represented in the Moon). The final Day of Atonement is soon coming for the world (Gedi), but Judgment begins "at the House of God". Therefore the so-called people of Yahweh have less time.

The opportunity for Salvation - represented in Qesheth, the white Horse and Rider of Revelation 6, is coming to an end (represented by the placement of this sky-event in the tail end of the constellation). War and bloodshed is soon coming (represented in Ma'adim -Mars), but it is being held off by the mercy of God for a time -until the ending of this Sabbath (Sabbatai, Saturn)...  And the Sabbatical year will end on September 28, 2020, which is the Day of Atonement this coming fall.

It is a sobering and merciful message from our Creator and Judge...  Get off the proverbial "fence". Come out of the world and rid yourself of all spiritual double-mindedness. Be serious about belonging to Yahweh. The final 7 years is starting soon - in fact, it all begins on the Day of Atonement this year...

Messier 35

Use the Moon as Your Guide

When you're less familiar with the constellations, it can be hard to find things. But, in the next few days, we will get a great opportunity for finding a few of the harder to spot sights, because we'll have a heavenly guide - the Moon!

Tonight, the bright gibbous Moon will pass through the foot of the Heavenly Bridegroom in Ta'am (Gemini). Not only will this placement help you sight Ta'am, but also, the Moon will be positioned in such a way as to be surrounded by many spectacular deep sky objects, one of which is Messier 35.

To use the Moon to find Messier 35, note that when the Moon is passing through the foot of Ta'am, it will be 1.5 degrees below Messier 35. For visual reference, that means Messier 35 will be just less than three Moon diameters above the Moon. Once you know where to look for Messier 35, wait...  Come back to find it on a night when the Moon is not nearby. Using binoculars will help also.

It's a Great Night to See Re'eym!

Pleiades and Hyades

In the Northern Hemisphere, January is a great month for viewing Re'eym (now called Taurus, the Bull). The two deep-sky objects of Pleiades and Hyades shine brightly this month. The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters and M45, looks like a small dipper. And the larger Hyades forms the V-shaped head of Re'eym. These parts of the bull will appear highest in the south in the early evening.

Pleiades is a starry warning of the seven last plagues which will soon be coming upon the unrepentant of this world. And Re'eym itself is the constellation associated with the Second Coming of Messiah.

Tonight's Dramatic Change in the Goliath Star

Watch Al Gol Triple in Brightness

As I have shared in yesterday's blog, Betelgeuse is dimming. Today, I will show you some dramatic changes in the star Al Gol.

Al Gol - the Goliath star (a term which I will more fully explain in a minute) is a variable star in the constellation Perseus, called Parats in Hebrew. Tonight, if you start viewing Al Gol soon after darkness falls, you will be able to watch it more than triple in brightness (from a starting magnitude of 3.4 to a magnitude of 2.1) over the course of about five hours. Al Gol appears nearly overhead after sunset. It sinks low in the northwest well after midnight.

So why is Al Gol the Goliath star? Let me explain this star name and its meaning in the placement it has in its constellation.

Parats (Perseus) is one of the largest constellations in the Northern Hemisphere. It is well-known for its annual meteor shower which takes place from July 23 to August 13.  Certainly, this meteor shower highlights the Heavenly Father's Message in Parats.

When David fought the giant Goliath (Golyath), he slew him by striking the giant with a stone in the forehead. David then used Goliath's own sword and cut off his head. The constellation of Parats has immortalized this Bible story, shining it out nightly in this constellation. But David and Goliath were only a shadow picture of the deeper message of Parats.

Golyath—the name of this star—is also the Hebrew name of the giant we call “Goliath” in the Bible. Like the heroic Parats in this constellation, David slew the giant Goliath (Golyath) by striking him in the forehead with a stone from his sling. In other words, David killed Goliath by hitting him in the forehead, in the location of the star Golyath.

In this constellation, the giant enemy’s head has been severed and is being held up as a trophy of victory in the hands of Parats. Christ is represented in Parats and Satan is the slain giant whose severed head is in the hands of the Heavenly Judge. This star-picture is showing that our mighty Messiah will conquer Satan in the end.

Suggesting the devil’s impending doom, two comets passed through Ha Satan, conjuncting with the star Al Gol (Golyath). The paths of the two comets visually formed “cross-hairs” through Al Gol. In 1996, the Hyakutake comet passed through the head of Ha Satan, conjuncting Al Gol as shown with the yellow, dotted line running from left to right. This comet is on a 20,000 year+ circuit. One solar year later (to the day), the comet Hale Bopp passed through Al Gol, as shown with the other yellow, dotted line.

The Greeks said the severed head held in the hand of Parats (whom they called Perseus) belonged to Medusa (a demonic “goddess” with serpents for hair). Considering that the true identity of the defeated giant is actually the serpent from Eden—the devil himself—the Greeks weren’t too far off. But we may know that the severed head belongs to the devil because the Hebrew name of the severed head is Ha Satan (Satan), and the Arabic name was Al Ghoul (the evil spirit).

Betelgeuse is Dimming?

Will Betelgeuse go Supernova?

In the Northern Hemisphere, if you go out to look at the sky after dark tonight, Orion will be shining brightly in the southeast. But, if you've been watching Orion for the past several years, you may notice that it doesn't quite look the same...

Beginning in October of 2019, about the time of Sukkot, astronomers noticed that the brightness of Betelgeuse had suddenly begun to change. Formerly one of the top 10 brightest stars in the sky, the brightness of Betelgeuse had fallen to 21st place by the end of December, 2019!

Betelgeuse is the brightest star in Orion. It's Hebrew name is Bo Tsemach, meaning "the Coming Branch". Since "the Branch" is a Scriptural and Heavenly title of our Saviour, we see the promise of the King's Return in this amazing star.

Betelgeuse is located in the right shoulder of Orion. See the photo of Orion below (Betelgeuse is the orange star on the upper left hand side of the image. (Since Orion is facing us, his right shoulder is on our left.)

Betelgeuse is one of the largest known stars. It is 700 times the size of our Sun. In fact, if our Sun were as massive as Betelgeuse, it's surface would extend all the way out to the orbit of Jupiter!

In spite of its massive size, Betelgeuse has a cooler surface temperature than our Sun. The low surface temperature (6000 F compared to our Sun's 10,000 F) of Betelgeuse causes it to appear orange-red in color.

Betelgeuse: Hebrew name: Bo Tsemach (Strong's Concordance numbers H935 and H6780), means "Branch who comes" or "coming" "Branch", which is a reference to Yahshua's Return:
Jeremiah 23:5  "Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth."
As Betelgeuse is part of the Orion constellation, understanding the spiritual meaning of this star involves understanding the Creator's Message in Orion (Kesiyl) as a whole. For a deeper understanding, revisit my blog posting on Orion. You may also find information about the Orion constellation in my book, God's Amazing Star Secret).

So what is causing Betelgeuse to dim? Scientists are scrambling to figure it out. It could be that Betelgeuse is merely dimming because it has long been known to be a variable star. Perhaps it has dimmed and will reclaim its former glory as time goes on. Some astronomers believe that Betelgeuse's dimness is a sign that it is dying out and that we will soon see it go supernova.

If it indeed it does "go" supernova, it will be a notable heavenly sign, but it will not effect the Earth today. This is because the light from Betelgeuse takes 642 years to reach the Earth. Thus, if we view the supernova tomorrow, it actually took place 642 years ago.

But, of course, the heavens are God's great Clock. And He is well-able to plan and put a heavenly sign in motion 642 years before it is needed! The heavenly sign of dimming Betelgeuse - Bo Tsemach - is a Messianic sign.

As we have seen, the Hebrew name for this star (Bo Tsemach) means that the Branch is coming. The Branch is Messiah. But the world is preparing to receive a false Messiah, rejecting Christ the true Messiah. Soon the false Messiah, known as the Anti-Christ, will reign from what should be God's Temple in Jerusalem.

As we come closer to the arrival and reign of the false Messiah, the light of the star representing the true Messiah is dimming! Perhaps it will even disappear entirely from view in a spectacular supernova! And in the dimming, we find a warning for all who will look up and see. The Light of Truth about the true Messiah is being eclipsed...

Let's make sure that the Light of the true Bo Tsemach is shining brightly in our hearts, even as it becomes dimmed upon this Earth.

Overview of Sky Events for January 2020

Upcoming Sky Events for January 2020...

In the month of January, we have several special sky events, as follows:

January 3-4 - Quadrantids Meteor Shower - The annual Quadrantid Shower is above average with up to 40 meteors per hour at its peak. For more information on this amazing shower, click here to view last year's blog on it.

January 10 - Full Moon/Penumbral Lunar Eclipse - When the moon passes through the Earth's partial shadow (known as its penumbra) a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse occurs. During this kind of an eclipse, the Moon only darkens slightly, but not completely. This eclipse will be visible throughout most of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Indian Ocean, and Western Australia.

January 24 - Astronomical New Moon - The day which is now known as the New Moon among astronomers is the day when the moon is dark - being in its conjunctive phase. The dark phase of the Moon is not the Biblical New Moon, which was counted from the sighting of the first visible sliver, following the conjunction.

January 25 - Biblical New Moon Eve - The first visible sliver of the New Moon will be sightable this evening at sunset (weather permitting). The first visible sliver of the New Moon chases the sun down as it sets. This evening, at sunset is the start of the Biblical New Moon Day, which is January 26, 2020 - having begun at sunset on January 25.

And that is an overview of some of the sky highlights for this month...
