Upcoming Sky Events for January 2020...
In the month of January, we have several special sky events, as follows:
January 3-4 - Quadrantids Meteor Shower - The annual Quadrantid Shower is above average with up to 40 meteors per hour at its peak. For more information on this amazing shower, click here to view last year's blog on it.
January 10 - Full Moon/Penumbral Lunar Eclipse - When the moon passes through the Earth's partial shadow (known as its penumbra) a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse occurs. During this kind of an eclipse, the Moon only darkens slightly, but not completely. This eclipse will be visible throughout most of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Indian Ocean, and Western Australia.
January 24 - Astronomical New Moon - The day which is now known as the New Moon among astronomers is the day when the moon is dark - being in its conjunctive phase. The dark phase of the Moon is not the Biblical New Moon, which was counted from the sighting of the first visible sliver, following the conjunction.
January 25 - Biblical New Moon Eve - The first visible sliver of the New Moon will be sightable this evening at sunset (weather permitting). The first visible sliver of the New Moon chases the sun down as it sets. This evening, at sunset is the start of the Biblical New Moon Day, which is January 26, 2020 - having begun at sunset on January 25.

Referring back to the January 3, 2019 blog, It is good to reflect upon the challenge it is to arrive at the original messages Yah created in the heavens offering encouragement to mankind after the fall. How extraordinarily merciful! It has obviously taken much research and willingness to accept the intended messages from Yah in his holy lights.

The Greeks were infamous for renaming - and even, in some cases reshaping - the constellations to fit their own mythology and the stories of their false gods. Ultimately, this has been inspired by the kingdom of hell in order to mess up and obscure the Creator's powerful Message in the Heavens.
Lucifer (who became Satan) once said that he would "exalt" his "throne" above the "stars of God" (Isaiah 14:13). This has certainly happened. And one way that he has done this is through inspiring humans to try to rename or reshape the constellations, obscuring the Plan of Redemption which is found in their original names and starry shapes."
And yet, there will always be the faithful few who will seek out truth, follow it, and encourage others to do the same. Praise Yah!
