Biblical Astronomy 2 - Session 4 - September 14, 2022

OR

In today's session, we continued our study of how the heavens are Yahweh's timeclock, used for calculating all time: literal time (days, years), spiritual time (time of new moons and annual holy days), and prophetic time (signs and omens of coming events are given in the heavens).

This is one huge reason why all the Biblical patriarchs were Astronomers! In preparation for our upcoming, in-depth studies of ancient monoliths, cave paintings and preserved ancient sites - which are all about the heavens and many have to do with tracking/calculating time - we are needing to fully understand how the patriarchs used the Mazzaroth to determine time - tuning in to Yahweh's sky-clock.

As we learn to tell time by the heavens, as the patriarchs did, we acquire key, foundational principles which give us a much deeper understanding of the time-keeping devices, sites, paintings and placements of monoliths which we will be studying as we delve deeper into Archaeo-Astronomy...  Archaeology reveals much about the Patriarch's understanding of the heavens...  and how we can regain the lost light of Truth on the Mazzaroth, which our Patriarch's knew.

Ok... so that's where we're going - and why we're studying Torah principles for making a Biblical calendar...

In this study, we've had to address the two ways Hebrew-roots believers calculate the Biblical calendar, which are:

  • Jerusalem barley being "abib" - and then watching for the first new moon following the "abib" announcement.
  • Mazzaroth - Genesis 1:15 says the heavenly lights are used to determine "years" (when a year starts and ends).
The root-system of the calendar model that we choose (from the options above) is determined by our view of Torah. Is Torah progressive (added layers are permanently in place and are observed from that point onward for all eternity) or is it eternal, with added layers (which are not eternal, but have a limited time in which they are in effect, for sin).

Which view we hold about Torah impacts our view of how to start/end a Biblical year...

So far, we have found much Scriptural evidence to suggest that Eden's Torah is Eternal - having jurisdiction over all Yahweh's Creation - not limited to Earth alone (in that Satan is not human, but was the first to sin, which is Biblically defined as "transgression of the Law.")

What Scriptural evidence shows that Torah existed at Creation?

·  1 John 3:4 – sin is the transgression of the Law (in Hebrew, Torah).

·  1 John 3:8 – the devil is the first one to sin – the fact that the devil could sin means that the Law of Yahweh was already in existence – and it has power on and off world. The Law of Yahweh was present in Eden – as Satan, unfallen was in Eden (Ezekiel 28:11-16).

The following Patriarchs kept the Feasts, prior to Moses/Sinai, indicating that the Feasts (which are calculated by the Biblical Calendar) existed prior to Sinai:

·  Genesis 1:14 – And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

  •    SEASONS, in Genesis 1:14, is translated from the Hebrew word mo'ed (H4150), which means "an appointment, that is, a fixed time or season; specifically a festival."

·  Leviticus 23:4  TheseH428 are the feasts H4150 of the LORD,H3068 even holyH6944 convocations,H4744 whichH834 ye shall proclaimH7121 in their seasons H4150

· Psalm 104:19  He appointedH6213 the moonH3394 for seasons: H4150 the sunH8121 knowethH3045 his going down.H3996

Clearly, there was no Jerusalem, at Creation, so that location must have had nothing to do with the Eden calendar, which revealed the timing of the annual Days (Leviticus 23) by the heavens alone.

Notably also, for barley to be in a state of "abib", which is defined as being nearly ripe (almost fully ripe or dried grain), it is mostly dried - browned... In Eden there was no "abib" barley by this definition. Nothing died. Everything was in a perpetual state of being fully green and flourishing (no death, which is needed for dried, dead heads of grain).

·  Joseph – Psalm 81:3-5 –

·  Psalm 81:3-5 - "Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn Feast day. For this was a Statute for Israel, and a Law of the God of Jacob. This He ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

·  This was the Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23)

·  Joseph led the Egyptians in keeping this Feast

·  The Statutes are mentioned, and Yahweh’s Law is mentioned, neither of which were written at this point.

·  This reference indicates that Yahweh’s Law existed before Israel was at Mount Sinai and Moses wrote anything.

·        Lot – Genesis 19:3 – Lot made the angels a “feast” of “unleavened bread” – There is a set time for this… The Feast of Unleavened Bread. Yahweh has a pattern of always doing His big Work on His holy Days….  Calendar… timing…  Tuning in to Heaven’s timing, is a big factor of what the Mazzaroth is about. Yahweh’s people were tuned in…  They knew what time it was.

·  Notice that the Feast of Unleavened Bread is in existence before the Exodus.

·        Abraham – Genesis 26:5 – Because that Abraham obeyed My Voice, and kept my Charge, My Commandments, My Statutes, and My Laws.”

·  This means that Torah existed before the Exodus, before Mount Sinai and before Moses wrote it.

·        Cain and Abel – Genesis 4:3-4 – Cain brings the firstfruits offering and Abel brings the lamb…  Clearly, because Yahweh does not accept Cain’s offering, the firstfruits offering is being presented at the wrong time…  This is the time for lamb offerings. Sin is requiring the shedding of blood for remission. Firstfruits offering isn’t for the cleansing of sin. Notably, Cain’s sacrifice is called “sin” by Yah.

·  The Torah teaches that we bring the “firstfruits” – which is an offering of the fruit of the ground – which is brought and presented to Yahweh at the time of First Fruits.

·  Scripture defines “sin” as transgression of the Law…  Cain’s sacrifice is “sin”…  so the Law clearly existed.

CLASS SCHEDULE FOR OCTOBER, 2022:
Please make a note of our class schedule for October, as it is unusual...  October's Biblical Astronomy classes will only be happening at the end of the month. This is because, in October, we have the Day of Atonement - October 6 (Yom Kippur) and the Feast of Tabernacles - October 11-18 (Sukkot). My husband and I will be hosting the Lighted Way Ministries' annual Fall Retreat for Sukkot.

We would love for you to join us online or in-person for the upcoming Feasts! Click here to learn about the upcoming broadcasts, the Fall Retreat, and the schedule:

Hosting this retreat involves not only the joyous time of the Feast itself, and the daily meetings, it also involves much work in the planning and preparation of food, Power-point presentations, and getting our home and ministry facilities in order to accommodate the retreat, our guests, and the scheduled meetings in the most Yahweh-glorifying way possible.

As a result, I will not be holding any online classes from October 3 to 21, as explained below:
  • Week of October 3-7 - No Biblical Astronomy class online on Zoom this week.
  • Week of October 14-17 - No Biblical Astronomy meeting online on Zoom this week.
  • Week of October 17-21 - No Biblical Astronomy class online on Zoom this week.
In fact, during the month of October, we will only have ONE Biblical Astronomy class, which will meet on Wednesday, October 26 at 11 AM (PST).

Because we only have one online class during the whole month of October (although you can always watch the recorded videos in the archive throughout this month, and it is a great time to catch up on anything you've missed), I am giving you this October class free of charge. It is my Sukkot gift to you! As a result, you will not need to pay the usual monthly class rate for the month of October.

SEPTEMBER COURSE FEE - DUE NOW:
At this point, some have sent in the requested amount for September, and some still have not.

Please remember that I ask $50.00 per month per household for participation in this class. This amount for the September classes is due at this time, and can be submitted online by clicking the link below (which takes you to the Lighted Way Ministries donation center - donation of $50.00):
