Biblical Astronomy 2 - Session 5 - September 21, 2022

In today's session, we continued our study of how the heavens are Yahweh's timeclock, used for calculating all time: literal time (days, years), spiritual time (time of new moons and annual holy days), and prophetic time (signs and omens of coming events are given in the heavens).

This is one huge reason why all the Biblical patriarchs were Astronomers! In preparation for our upcoming, in-depth studies of ancient monoliths, cave paintings and preserved ancient sites - which are all about the heavens and many have to do with tracking/calculating time - we are needing to fully understand how the patriarchs used the Mazzaroth to determine time - tuning in to Yahweh's sky-clock.

As we learn to tell time by the heavens, as the patriarchs did, we acquire key, foundational principles which give us a much deeper understanding of the time-keeping devices, sites, paintings and placements of monoliths which we will be studying as we delve deeper into Archaeo-Astronomy...  Archaeology reveals much about the Patriarch's understanding of the heavens...  and how we can regain the lost light of Truth on the Mazzaroth, which our Patriarch's knew.

Ok... so that's where we're going - and why we're studying Torah principles for making a Biblical calendar...

In this study, we've had to address the two ways Hebrew-roots believers calculate the Biblical calendar, which are:

  • Jerusalem barley being "abib" - and then watching for the first new moon following the "abib" announcement.
  • Mazzaroth - Genesis 1:15 says the heavenly lights are used to determine "years" (when a year starts and ends).
The root-system of the calendar model that we choose (from the options above) is determined by our view of Torah. Is Torah progressive (added layers are permanently in place and are observed from that point onward for all eternity) or is it eternal, with added layers (which are not eternal, but have a limited time in which they are in effect, for sin).

Which view we hold about Torah impacts our view of how to start/end a Biblical year...

So far, we have found much Scriptural evidence to suggest that Eden's Torah is Eternal - having jurisdiction over all Yahweh's Creation - not limited to Earth alone (in that Satan is not human, but was the first to sin, which is Biblically defined as "transgression of the Law.")

As we have studied through the Progressive Torah viewpoint, we have found that this Torah-teaching doesn't hold up to Scripture...  Torah is Eternal - specifically, Eden Torah is Eternal. Layers are added because of sin, but those added layers do not remain forever.

In our study of the Torah is Progressive teachings, we found the following:
  • Progressive Torah Opinion: Torah originated at Mount Sinai...
    • NO!
    • Torah did not originate at Mount Sinai, at the Exodus. Torah existed from Creation - and applies to more than humans, since the devil was the first to sin, and sin is Biblically defined as "transgression of the Law", we may plainly see that Torah existed long before Sinai.
    • The original Torah existed in Eden, before sin.
    • Torah was written at Mount Sinai, but was kept, known, and existed from the foundation of the world.
  • Progressive Torah Opinion: the Levitical Priesthood is Eternal, having been initiated at the golden calf incident...
    • NO!
    • The Levitical priesthood was a lesser priesthood, which was instituted because of Israel's sin at the golden calf incident. The greater priesthood was the Melchizedek priesthood.
      • Genesis 14:18-20
      • Hebrews 7:9-10
    • Prior to the golden calf incident, all of Israel (all Yahweh's people) were priests.
      • Exodus 19:6

    • The Levitical priesthood ended with the Death of Messiah, Who was our High Priest, after the order of Melchizedek. After Yahshua's Death, all Israel (all Yahweh's saved people) are restored to the Melchizedek priesthood and are called to be priests and kings, as Melchizedek was.
      • Hebrews 7:23-27
      • Revelation 1:6
      • Revelation 5:10
      • Revelation 20:6
  • Progressive Torah Opinion: once the animal sacrifices were initiated, they were to continue forever...
    • NO!
    • Animal blood / sacrifices cannot redeem fallen mankind. The blood of animals was always only a promissory note, which pointed to the Death of Yahshua - Heaven's Lamb, Whose Sacrifice was "perfect", all-powerful, and able to cleanse us.
      • 1 Corinthians 5:7
      • Daniel 9:26-27
      • Hebrews 10:1-10
      • Genesis 22:8
    • If animal sacrifices continue now that Yahshua has died, it indicates that His Offering was weak... unable to save... incomplete... This is wrong!
    • As it says in Hebrews 10:2, when a perfect sacrifice is given, all animal offerings forever cease.
    • Yahshua died "once for all"...  which means, for all sin, for all sinners, and for all animal sacrifices...  His death brings the need for all other blood sacrifices to a complete end.
    • In Heaven's Eyes, it was the Death of Yahshua which ended the animal sacrifices - not the destruction of the Temple.
    • Thus, we see that the sacrifices of animals is not to continue...
  • Progressive Torah Opinion: once David captured Jerusalem and established as the holy city, it was forever to be the holy city...
    • NO!
    • Nothing is holy unless Yahweh's Presence indwells.
    • Yahshua Himself said that the "house" or Temple of Jerusalem was left "desolate" in His Day - connected with the Abomination of Desolation.
    • Yahshua also told the Samaritan woman at the well that the time NOW IS when people worship Yahweh in Spirit and Truth - wherever they are - not by going to Jerusalem.
    • Yahshua further commanded His followers to not go to the "desert" to see the false Messiah...  This "desert" is the "desolate" place - Jerusalem.
    • Since the Saviour declared Jerusalem as "desolate" - Abomination of Desolation - it can no longer be viewed as the holy city.
    • In fact, Jerusalem which is the place of the "Abomination of Desolation" is not only not the holy city anymore, when the final Beast reigns there, it will be the most unholy city on earth!
      • John 4:20-24
      • Matthew 23:37-38
      • Matthew 24:23-26
      • Revelation 17:3
      • Daniel 9:24
    • After Messiah, whenever the Bible prophets refer to "Jerusalem" or "Zion" in a positive way, it is referring to Yahweh's Saved people - not the literal city!
      • Proverbs 25:28
      • Isaiah 62:1-12

CLASS SCHEDULE FOR OCTOBER, 2022:
Please make a note of our class schedule for October, as it is unusual...  October's Biblical Astronomy classes will only be happening at the end of the month. This is because, in October, we have the Day of Atonement - October 6 (Yom Kippur) and the Feast of Tabernacles - October 11-18 (Sukkot). My husband and I will be hosting the Lighted Way Ministries' annual Fall Retreat for Sukkot.

We would love for you to join us online or in-person for the upcoming Feasts! Click here to learn about the upcoming broadcasts, the Fall Retreat, and the schedule:

Hosting this retreat involves not only the joyous time of the Feast itself, and the daily meetings, it also involves much work in the planning and preparation of food, Power-point presentations, and getting our home and ministry facilities in order to accommodate the retreat, our guests, and the scheduled meetings in the most Yahweh-glorifying way possible.

As a result, I will not be holding any online classes from October 3 to 21, as explained below:
  • Week of October 3-7 - No Biblical Astronomy class online on Zoom this week.
  • Week of October 14-17 - No Biblical Astronomy meeting online on Zoom this week.
  • Week of October 17-21 - No Biblical Astronomy class online on Zoom this week.
In fact, during the month of October, we will only have ONE Biblical Astronomy class, which will meet on Wednesday, October 26 at 11 AM (PST).

Because we only have one online class during the whole month of October (although you can always watch the recorded videos in the archive throughout this month, and it is a great time to catch up on anything you've missed), I am giving you this October class free of charge. It is my Sukkot gift to you! As a result, you will not need to pay the usual monthly class rate for the month of October.
