The Second Star Family - Part 1

Mozanaim's Decans - Asedah (Lupus)

Like a rich tapestry, the prophetic symbols found in the stars and constellations are woven together to create a total picture. Although there are only four constellations in the Mozanaim star-family, these constellations relate with those in other star-families (especially Bethulah), deepening their meaning and message.

The first decan of Mozanaim is Asedah (Lupus), which portrays a wolf in the act of being slain. Its ancient Hebrew name, Asedah, means “to be slain”. Asham Bazah (Centaurus) is slaying Asedah in the sky. As was explained in the section on Bethulah, Asham Bazah represents Christ (showing His dual Nature). Considering this, who is the wolf that is being slain by Him?

Certainly, we know that the One Who was slain was Christ Himself (Revelation 5:6 & 12). But how can Yahshua be both Asham Bazah (the slayer) and Asedah (the victim that is being slain)? And why would He, the innocent Lamb of God, be represented by a wolf?

The Bible says that Messiah was taken “by wicked hands, crucified, and slain,” (Acts 2:23). But in the sky, Christ is portrayed as both victim and slayer to show that He voluntarily gave up His Life for us. He had the power to come down off the Cross and save Himself, as one of the thieves taunted Him to do (Luke 23:39). But He did not exercise His power to save Himself.
“I lay down My Life for the sheep.... No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again” (John 10:15-18).
And “being found in fashion as a man, humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross,” Philippians 2:5-8 (KJV)
Ancient star-records confirm that this  constellation was known as a wolf. For example, in Greek it was called Lycos, “a wolf”.  Lupus, as it is now called, means “wolf”.  So why is it a wolf? Wolves, in Scripture, symbolize the worst of mankind. A deceiver, a destroyer, or a persecutor of God’s people is represented by a wolf (John 10:12, Matthew 10:16).

Conversely, the sacrifice of a lamb was used to portray the Saviour’s purity and innocence. But a wolf is being slain here to show that Christ “became sin” for us. He took our sinful, “wolfishness” on Himself, dying in our place.
“For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
