One of the many wonderful things about Qesheth and its decans (the fourth star-family) is the amazing Lyrid Meteor Shower, which takes place every year in April (roughly from April 16 to 25). Remarkably, Kinnor (Lyra) is often putting on its amazing falling star show during the time of Passover and Unleavened Bread!

The peak of this year's Lyrid Meteor Shower will take place just after Passover. Since Passover is the fourteenth day of the Biblical month, counting from the first sliver of the new moon, this Feast always falls at the time of a full moon - (I will discuss that in more detail in tomorrow's blog). This means, of course, that the meteor shower will be a bit less visible due to the brilliant light of the waning gibbous moon.
Of course, tonight is the actual night of the full moon. So, even though the Lyrid Meteor Shower is occurring, it will not be a good night to sight the meteors.
But over the next few nights, I do encourage you to cast your eyes about the sky. You do not need to focus only on the Kinnor (Lyra) constellation to sight meteors that visually begin from there. Meteors can appear anywhere in the sky. But the visual epicenter of this meteor shower is the star Vega (Room, in Hebrew), meaning "to exalt" and "to promote".
And there can be no doubt as to the spiritual Message of this meteor shower, and its placement within the Feast of Unleavened Bread. As we are spiritually called to be free from the "leaven" of sin (which is the theme of the Feast of Unleavened Bread), we are invited to live to our Father's Glory! He is to be exalted and promoted. And self and our will is to fade away. This is the powerful message and calling which the amazing Lyrid Meteor Shower celebrates!
The name of the star (Room) from which this shower visually emanates sums up the message and meaning quite perfectly. It says:
Psalm 18:46 - "Yahweh liveth; and blessed be my Rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted (Room)."
