As I have already mentioned in this blog, each of the 25 brightest stars in the sky bears a deeply significant spiritual message. They serve as highlights or anchor points outlining the key principles of the Plan of Redemption.
As we saw in the July 10, 2019 blog, Sirius (Sar, in Hebrew) is the first and brightest of these stars. Sar means "Prince" (a reference to Messiah Himself). The second brightest star in the night sky is Canopus, originally known as Yarash means "to possess, occupy by driving out the prior occupants" (a reference to the saints possesses ultimate "Canaan" in the End). The third brightest star in the sky is Rigil Kentaurus (a.k.a. Alpha Centauri), which was anciently known as Toliman, in Hebrew.
Toliman means "the heretofore and the hereafter" in reference to Messiah being the Great I AM (John 8:58-59; Isaiah 9:6), the Self-Existent One Who has always been. Scripture doesn't usually render Toliman as "the heretofore and the hereafter". Usually in the Bible this expression appears as "the First and the Last".
This star is located in the lion-foot of the centaur constellation anciently known as Asham Bazah. See Toliman in the drawing below (which is from my book God's Amazing Star Secret):
Isaiah 44:6 “Thus saith Yahweh the King of Israel, and his Redeemer Yahweh of hosts; I Am the First, and I Am the Last; and beside Me there is no God.”Tolimen, now called Rigil Kentaurus, shines as a reminder of the Divinity of Christ. It's Message is plainly spelled out in Revelation 1, which says of Yahshua:
Revelation 1:10-18 “I (John the Revelator) was in the Spirit on Yahweh's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I Am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last... And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His Voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His right Hand seven stars: and out of His Mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and His Countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His Feet as dead. And He laid His right Hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I Am the First and the Last: I Am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I Am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”Because Toliman (now called Rigil Kentaurus) is part of the Asham Bazah, which is a decan of the Bethulah (now called Virgo) in the first star-family, I have already written about it in this blog. To see the spiritual message and meaning of this constellation, placing the star Toliman within its proper context, please visit my blog from January 15, 2019.
Here are are few fun facts about Toliman (Rigil Kentaurus):
1) Rigil Kentaurus is the 3rd brightest star in the sky and is the closest star-system to us at only 4.3 light years from Earth.
- Centauri A (Alpha Centauri) - now officially known as Rigil Kentaurus.
- Centauri B - officially known as Toliman (the original Hebrew name of this whole star system).
- Centauri C - officially known as Proxima Centauri.
3) Alpha Centauri A (Rigil Kentaurus) is not a super huge star. It has a mass 1.1 times as big as our Sun, with a luminosity that is 1.519 times brighter. Alpha Centauri B is smaller and cooler. It is only .907 times our Sun's mass and .445 times its luminosity. Alpha Centauri C is smaller yet and is not viewable to the naked eye.
4) It takes almost 80 years for the two stars (Alpha Centauri A and B) to complete their orbital paths.
5) The ancients viewed this as a single star, and it was given a single name - Toliman. In fact, it wasn't until 1689 when it was known to be a binary (two-star) system. In December 1689, Jean Richaud was observing a passing comet from his station in Puducherry (India) when he discovered that this "single" star of Toliman was actually two stars - which, upon closer inspection is now known to be three stars.
6) One planet has been confirmed for the Toliman system: Proxima Centauri b. It is slightly larger than Earth, and orbits around Proxima Centauri at a distance that is close enough to allow for habitable temperatures. This exoplanet's existence was announced in 2016 by the European Southern Observatory.
