Huge Metal Mass Found on the Moon

On the Moon's South Pole

We don't hear much about the moon's south pole. It's the side of the moon which faces away from us. But in the past decade, we've been learning new things about our nearest neighbor. Most recently scientists have discovered that there is a huge mass below the moon's surface.
On the south pole of the moon, there is a mass of metal which is estimated to weigh 2.2 quadrillion tons located about 300 km below the moon's surface.

What created this metal mass? Scientists are unsure. Some suggest a metal meteor may have impacted the moon and become embedded in it...  The above video gives a bit more information on this interesting discovery. Please disregard the dates, of course.
