The first of the three decans of Deli is Dag, the fish—now called Piscis Austrinus, or the Southern Fish. Dag is a constellation which lies in the southern sky. Piscis Austrinus means “the southern fish” in Latin. The brightest star in the constellation, Fomalhaut, is also one of the brightest stars in the night sky.
Fish represent new converts—souls saved for the Kingdom. In the star-family of Deli, Dag is so closely associated with Deli that the two constellations appear to touch each other. Dag is seen drinking up the stream of Living Water, as it pours forth from the Water-Carrier’s pitcher.
Thus, we see a beautifully portrayed promise in Dag. God promises His faithful followers that there will be “fish” (souls saved) from their efforts and because of the Water of Life and Truth, which pours forth from their lives. This is an encouraging message and a powerful promise!
Psalm 2:8 “Ask of Me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance...”This star-family message shines not only for pastors and evangelists. Everyone who follows Christ is called to join the Father’s soul-saving team—as “fishers of men”.
Matthew 4:19 “And He saith unto them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
